Instructor Training
Help others in your community maintain and improve their quality of life.
Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) classes are conducted by fitness, exercise science and healthcare professionals who have completed SAIL program leader training. Program leaders usually have an exercise science or clinical practice background. All program leaders are carefully selected for their ability to deliver effective and efficient training, while adhering to the core components of the SAIL program. Leaders work with participants to help achieve the best results from the fitness classes. All potential SAIL Instructors must complete their initial training through an onsite, live class format, or by taking the online class.
All training formats will provide you with the tools and resources to initiate, establish, and market a SAIL Program in your community. In addition, you’ll learn how to keep the interest of your older adults to ensure that your program continues to be successful over time.
Requirements to be a SAIL Instructor:
Completion of the in-person training or online training
Current Adult CPR Certification
Minimum of one-year related experience working with older adults.
Who should attend the Instructor Training?
Community Members
Retirement Community Activity Directors
Senior Fitness Instructors
